What is Nature Fix?

Nature Fix is an online almanac, giving you everything you need to connect with nature and improve your wellbeing in sync with the changing seasons of the year.

Do the benefits of a country walk wear off too fast? Before long you feel tense and stressed again?

That’s because just walking in nature doesn’t work. You need to learn how to move from having contact with nature to developing a deeper, heartfelt connection.

Get more from your walk in the park by learning how to move towards a deep sense of belonging in nature.  Nature Fix monthly videos, audio tracks and articles will help you embed nature connection into your everyday life for deep and lasting benefits.

Whether you live in the middle of a city or remote countryside, Nature Fix can help you feel more nourished and alive. Science shows us that as a nation we are less connected with nature, and this is linked to feelings of depersonalisation and disassociation, feeling detached from the world and not knowing how to find the connection we crave.

Nature Fix gives you tools that actually work. It’s not airy-fairy, go hug a tree – we use the latest research and develop it into practices that are pleasurable, and that you will naturally begin to embed into your life. We know from our members that once the spark of curiosity has been lit, you won’t be able to stop connecting with nature.

Who is behind Nature Fix?

Nature Fix, developed by Rachel Massey, is built on over a decade of her work helping people to escape the stress of modern life and reconnect with nature. The practices she shares are based on her work helping many hundreds of people to find connection and deepen their enjoyment of nature. In 2022 and 2023, month-by-month, Rachel built Nature Fix, a living, breathing handbook to make her work more accessible to more people. Learn how  to live a life aligned with the rhythms of nature and the ways we can connect with it with lifetime Nature Fix membership.

If it’s not for you, we offer a full refund within two weeks, no questions asked.

What Do Nature Fix Members Get?

Nature Fix Members Area

Nature Fix is a collection of research, reflections, and observations on the ever-changing landscape of the natural world, as well as tips and techniques to keep you connected to nature as you move through the year.

In Nature Fix you will find:

  • WOODSONG MEDITATIONS - WoodSong is the beating heart of Nature Fix. These monthly video and audio meditations give you respite and connection whenever you need it. They allow you to close your eyes, don your headphones, and tune into what your body and mind needs at this time of year.

Recorded live in the woods each month (and occasionally indoors without the woodland backdrop, so you can take it out and listen to your own nature soundscape), you’ll hear a bit about what is happening in the natural world at that time of year, accompanied by meditation guidance that responds to the sounds and energy of the woods.

Rachel is a qualified mindfulness instructor and each meditation is unique, a live response to whatever she is experiencing in the moment, with the trees as her collaborators.

  • THE EVIDENCE — Keep yourself motivated with a curated selection of scientific studies demonstrating how connecting with nature improves wellbeing

  • FIELD NOTES — Expand your knowledge with monthly insights into things to look out for in nature from migration patterns of birds, the lifecycle of oak apple wasps, or how to spot the changing territories of robins

  • GET YOUR FIX — Practical activities to help you connect with the nature you’ll find on your doorstep each month, drawing from mindfulness, psychology, eco-therapy and creativity.

  • NOTES FROM THE FOREST — Behind-the-scenes insights into Rachel’s drawing, printing, and painting from the woods, reflective writing on nature, and excerpts from her upcoming book

  • MEMBERS EVENTS — Occasional workshops, meetups and online gatherings so members can connect with nature alongside one another

With Nature Fix you can be transported into the woods whenever you need it; it’s a place to escape, where we look after everything for you and make it a little bit easier to care for yourself.

You will find articles about the latest evidence of the benefits of connecting with nature, information about what to look out for in nature each month, guidance and ideas about how to cultivate a deeper connection with nature and monthly WoodSong meditations documenting the changes as the year cycles through its seasons.

Whether nature is dancing with energy or in a period of rest, your monthly Nature Fix guides you to reconnect with yourself as part of the natural world.

You can do all the activities from the comfort of your own home, or you can practice in the park or out in your local area. There’s advice for people in urban and rural areas to help you build the nature connection into your day-to-day life.

There’s no commitment to join a regular Zoom meeting or keep up with a course – just monthly audio tracks, videos and articles to enjoy at your own pace; expect beautiful resources and tips to help you manage your wellbeing and connect with nature, however you find it each month.

What was very clear to me from the start was the authenticity of Rachel’s work. She has an amazing ability to gently invite her podcast guests and listeners to set aside the hustle and bustle of everyday life and take a journey with her to explore, contemplate and connect with the living world. I defy anyone not to come back from the experience feeling both enriched and refreshed.
— Jo Kennedy, Sound Artist
