A Daily Invitation

Other Ways to Walk in Formal Parks: A spread of colourful cards with different designs and words

Many people use my Other Ways to Walk cards as a prompt to set an intention for a walk. Simply pull one card at random from the pack and use that as a guide. It’s a great way to bring new interest to a regular walk.

If you haven’t got any cards, I’m doing that for you today - the image below is inspired by one of my cards. It’s your personal invitation to connect with nature by finding something precious to hold.

You might take your time seeking out a beautiful leaf or piece of bark. Maybe you will go for a little walk or have a sit together. Take your time and enjoy noticing the details of your treasure. Then when you’re ready, follow the next step. You can do it lots of times on one walk, or just once. I invite you to make it your own, tailor the experience to exactly what you need right now.

Let me know how you get on in the comments below!

A drawing of a conker and part of a leaf with the words: Find Something to Hold. Close your eyes. Remember the vigour from the time you felt best in your life. Then Let Go and Believe.

(This card can be found in Other Ways to Walk in Woodlands and it’s also available as a print.)
