Bugs and Beasts

I’d forgotten how thickly dense the air is with insects in May. And how noisy their humming, whirring sound can be - drowning out distant noise of traffic.

One of the participants on my Nightfall in the Woods event on Friday said she heard noises in the dark that sounded like ‘growing’. I think I heard them too, gentle popping and stretching sounds. So I’ve listened and watched in daylight and I think it’s the sound of flowers and seeds falling from trees.
